Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop was released in CES this January. The machine looks pretty good with its black obsidian look. This laptop is also called by little brother by many. The system is powered by Intel Core2 Duo P9500, P8600 or P8400 processors and runs Windows Vista 64 bit edition. The laptop also boasts of 4 GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G or 9500M graphics card, upto 500 GB of Hard Drive depending on the model and DVD drive.

There is Edge-to-Edge 13.3" HD WXGA LCD with 2.0 Megapixel Camera too. As a power backup there is 56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery. Most of the reviews of this notebook are positive except that some have reported heat issues and noisy fans. Last but not the least, base model is priced at $1,100. Not bad!

Nokia Laptops May Soon Be A Reality !

If the buzz is to be believed, the giant cellphone maker Nokia may soon enter in to the laptop market and if everything goes as planned you may soon get a Nokia laptop. The chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said in an interview to Finnish national broadcaster YLE on Wednesday that Nokia is eyeing entering the laptop business.

"We are looking very actively also at this opportunity," said Nokia Chief Executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. Kallasvuo's comment has come out as the official confirmation of the rumors about percolating in industry of Nokia's possible plan to enter the PC industry since late last year. He said that within a period of less than a year, we may see mobile phone and laptop converge.

"Today we have hundreds of millions of people who are having their first Internet experience on the phone. This is a good indication," he said.

Nokia's decision to make forays into laptop market may be a practical one as it already has a huge distribution and supply channel which it may use further for its new venture.

ASUS is planning to release its Eee PC T91 notebook. The major setback for this notebook could be its operating system which is Windows XP. The reason being this OS is not prepared for the tablet PC functioning and that is why limits the smooth computing experiencing. The second thing is that this tablet pc has no multi touch functionality.

Feature wise ASUS Eee PC T91 boasts of a 8.9-inch touch-screen display with 1,024×600 resolution and LED backlight. The notebook is powered by the Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, US15W chipset, 1GB of DDR2 memory which may seem a bit less when it comes to today's power hungry applications.

If you ask about connectivity, there is 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN port, optional 3G and GPS connectivity. Not bad!

The notebook is expected to be released by April and is expected to retail between £360 ($524) and £420 ($610). Eee PC T91 leaves many things to desired most obvious being a robust software which can handle the touchscreen functionality.

One more thing you will notice here is that gradually Dell is witching over to curvy styles as the recent data shows that other companies like HP, Sony are able to boost their sales with sleeker designs.
